Pulmonary Function Testing (PFTs)
Understanding Your Lung Health
Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are essential tools that help doctors assess how well your lungs are working. They measure how much air your lungs can hold, how efficiently air moves in and out, and how effectively your lungs deliver oxygen to your blood.

PFTs are commonly used to diagnose, monitor, and manage conditions such as:
-
Asthma
-
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
-
Pulmonary fibrosis and other restrictive lung diseases
-
Other conditions that affect breathing or lung function
What to Expect:
-
PFTs are non-invasive, safe, and generally painless
-
You’ll breathe through a mouthpiece while our equipment measures airflow, lung volume, and other important parameters
-
The test may include deep breaths, forceful exhalations, or normal breathing while measurements are taken
-
Most tests take 30 minutes, and you can resume normal activities afterward
Guided by Experts:
Our PFT technicians work closely with you throughout the test. They:
-
Explain each step clearly before it begins
-
Demonstrate breathing techniques to ensure accurate results
-
Provide real-time coaching during the test to help you perform correctly and comfortably
-
Monitor your progress and answer any questions to reduce anxiety
-
